1. Information We Collect
Naijolt is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data to provide our solar calculator service:
- Calculator Data (Client-Side Only): Your appliance selections, preferences, and calculation results are stored locally in your browser's sessionStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it via WhatsApp or PDF export.
- Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not collect personal information. We only see aggregate, anonymized data (e.g., page views, countries, devices).
- Contact Form (Future): If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email, and message solely to respond to your inquiry. This data is not shared with third parties.
2. How We Use Information
We use the minimal data we collect to:
- Provide the solar calculator service
- Understand aggregate usage patterns (via Plausible Analytics)
- Respond to contact form inquiries
- Improve the calculator based on user feedback
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Share your data with solar vendors
- Track you across websites
- Use cookies for tracking (Plausible is cookieless)
- Require account creation or email addresses to use the calculator
3. Data Storage
Client-Side Storage: Your calculator data is stored in your browser's sessionStorage and automatically deleted when you close the browser tab. This data is never sent to our servers.
Server-Side Storage: We do not currently store user data on our servers (MVP phase). Contact form submissions (when implemented) will be stored temporarily to respond to inquiries, then deleted after 90 days.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Plausible Analytics (plausible.io): Privacy-first analytics. No cookies, no personal data collection. Data is aggregated and anonymized. Plausible's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel (vercel.com): Hosting platform. Standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) are retained for 30 days for security purposes. Vercel's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Delete Your Data: Clear your browser's sessionStorage or close the tab to delete calculator data. No server-side deletion needed (we don't store it).
- Opt Out of Analytics: Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser or use an ad blocker. Plausible respects DNT headers.
- Request Information: Contact us at privacy@naijolt.com to request information about any data we may have.
