1. Information We Collect
Naijolt is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary to provide our solar calculator and related services:
- Calculator Data: Your appliance selections, preferences, and calculation results are processed locally in your browser. This data is never sent to our servers unless you explicitly purchase a premium report, share via WhatsApp, or export a PDF.
- Contact Form: When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), subject, and message to respond to your inquiry.
- Lead Capture: If you choose to connect with vendors after viewing your results, we collect your name, WhatsApp number, state, and a summary of your system specifications to facilitate vendor matching.
- Waitlist Signups: We collect your email and optional name when you sign up for feature announcements.
- Vendor Registration: Vendors who register on our platform provide their business name, contact name, email, WhatsApp number, business phone, state, area/LGA, brands supplied, and optionally their CAC number and business description.
- Premium Report Purchases: When you purchase a premium report, we store your email, payment reference, amount, and the calculator data associated with that purchase.
- Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to collect anonymized performance metrics such as page views, Core Web Vitals, and device information. No personal data is collected through analytics.
2. How We Use Information
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide the free solar calculator service
- Generate and deliver premium reports via email and PDF
- Match buyers with verified solar vendors in their state
- Respond to contact form inquiries
- Process payments for premium reports and vendor listings
- Send vendor registration confirmations and featured placement notifications
- Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the service
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Share your calculator data with vendors without your explicit consent
- Track you across websites
- Use cookies for tracking
- Require account creation or login to use the free calculator
3. Data Storage
Client-Side Storage: Your calculator data is stored in your browser's sessionStorage and is automatically deleted when you close the browser tab. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it or purchase a premium report.
Server-Side Storage: Data submitted through forms (contact messages, leads, waitlist signups, vendor registrations, and payment records) is stored securely in our Supabase database. Contact form submissions are retained to respond to inquiries. Lead data is retained until the matching process is complete. Payment records are retained for accounting and verification purposes.
Premium Report Data: When you purchase a premium report, your calculator data is permanently locked to your payment reference. This prevents reference reuse and ensures you can always access your purchased report via the magic link sent to your email.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase (supabase.com): Database hosting for storing form submissions, leads, vendor data, and payment records. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Paystack (paystack.com): Payment processing for premium reports and vendor listings. Paystack handles all card details directly—we never see or store your card information. We only receive a payment reference and verification status. Paystack's Privacy Policy.
- Resend (resend.com): Email delivery for contact form notifications, premium report PDFs, vendor confirmations, and admin alerts. Resend processes your email address and message content solely to deliver emails on our behalf. Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel (vercel.com): Hosting platform and analytics. Standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) are retained for 30 days for security purposes. Vercel Analytics collects anonymized performance data without cookies. Vercel's Privacy Policy.
5. Payments & Financial Data
All payment processing is handled by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We never collect, store, or have access to your credit/debit card details.
What we store for payment records:
- Your email address (provided to Paystack during checkout)
- Payment reference number
- Amount paid (in kobo)
- Payment status and verification timestamp
- Payment type (premium report, vendor listing, or featured placement)
Payment references are verified server-side with Paystack to prevent fraud. Each reference can only be used once.
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Delete Calculator Data: Clear your browser's sessionStorage or close the tab to delete local calculator data instantly.
- Request Data Deletion: Contact us at privacy@naijolt.com to request deletion of any server-side data we hold (contact messages, leads, waitlist entries).
- Opt Out of Analytics: Enable “Do Not Track” in your browser or use an ad blocker to opt out of Vercel Analytics.
- Request Information: Contact us at privacy@naijolt.com to request information about any data we hold about you.
